Conduct Civil Construction Skid Steer Loader Operations

The unit applies to those working in site based roles, and covers the skills and knowledge required to operate a skid steer to load, haul and distribute materials.

We provide site specific training and assessment services. This unit is offered in three modes: full course training and assessment, assessment only, and RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning).

Skills and knowledge that must be demonstrated to pass this unit include:

1. Planning and preparing for skid steer loader operations.

2. Operating skid steer loader in line with established requirements.

3. Loading, carrying and placing materials to complete work activity.

4. Selecting, removing, fitting and using attachments for a skid steer loader.

5. Preparing to relocate the skid steer loader.

6. Conducting housekeeping activities.

All participants will need to demonstrate suitable LLN skills. Participants will need to be 18 years of age or older.

On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a nationally recognised statement of attainment.

On the day

Participants will need to bring with them:

• Their Unique Student Identifier (USI) number

• Appropriate protective clothing - long pants, long-sleeved shirt and steel cap boots

  (no thongs or T-shirts)

• Photo ID

• Water bottle

Hi-Vis vests and hard hats will be provided where necessary.
